Tickets on Sale Friday, April 4 at Noon
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Rock and Roll chanteuse Stevie Nicks will deliver a career of hits at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on June 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 4 at Noon.
Stevie Nicks, a.k.a., Stephanie Lynn Nicks, began performing at the age of four. She sang and wrote songs throughout her high school and college career until fatefully coming across Lindsey Buckingham who she formed a band with, as well as a romantic relationship. The duo recorded their debut LP Buckingham Nicks (1974) which wasn't a success, however, it did catch the attention of Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac.
Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974 and her first effort with the band, the self-titled Fleetwood Mac (1975) went straight to the number one spot. Fleetwood Mac's second album, Rumours, with its hits "Gold Dust Woman" and "Dreams," which became the band's only Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit single, was released in 1977 and became one of the most successful, best selling albums of all time -more than 19 million copies in the U.S., and spending 31 weeks atop the Billboard 200 album chart. The success of their second album release immediately earned Nicks and her bandmates worldwide fame. Tusk (1979) yielded the hit "Sara" and it was at this time that Nicks also hit it big with a side solo project with Kenny Loggins on the hit , "Whenever I Call You Friend."
In 1981, She released the solo album, Bella Donna. Its lead single, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," was collaboration with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and it reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other singles included "Leather and Lace" (#6) with Don Henley, "Edge of Seventeen" (#11), and "After the Glitter Fades" (#32). Bella Donna reached #1 on the Billboard 200. Two songs recorded for the album, but cut from the final version, were released on soundtracks: "Blue Lamp" on the Heavy Metal soundtrack and "Sleeping Angel" for Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
She returned to Fleetwood Mac for Mirage (1982) and received acclaim for "Gypsy," then it was back to another solo album, this time The Wild Heart (1983) that went double platinum, reached #5 on the Billboard 20, and featured three hit singles: "Stand Back" (Billboard #5), "If Anyone Falls" (#14), and "Nightbird" (#33). Rock a Little (1985), proved another platinum solo success showcasing a harder-edged Nicks. The album hit #12 on the Billboard 200, and scored more hit singles with "Talk To Me" (#4), "I Can't Wait" (#16), and "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You."
Back in the studio, she rejoined Fleetwood Mac for Tango in the Night (1987) and the hit "Seven Wonders," Behind the Mask (1990), The Dance (1997) and Say You Will (2003)
Other solo releases recorded include The Other Side of the Mirror (1988), TimeSpace: The Best of Stevie Nicks (1991), Street Angel (1993) and Trouble in Shangri-La (2001).
In 1998 Nicks, along with her Fleetwood Mac bandmates, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Most recently, Nicks has collaborated with other famed artists such as Sheryl Crow, Macy Gray, Sarah McLachlan, and Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks.
