Tickets on Sale Friday, April 4 at 1 p.m.
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Larry the Cable Guy, the church-going, strip bar-going, know-it-all comedian returns to Hard Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on May 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 4 at 1 p.m.
Larry the Cable Guy, a.k.a., Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was born and raised on a pig farm in Pawnee City, Nebraska before relocating to West Palm Beach, Florida. Like many comics he began his career on a dare at a local comedy club in 1986. In 1988, he quit his day job as the funniest bellhop at The Ramada and hit the road. It wasn't long before he was wowing comedy club crowds with his high energy, one-liner style of stand up and soon made appearances on "Evening at The Improv" "Comic Strip Live," Comedy Central, MTV and Showtime.
Larry burst onto the radio scene in 1992 on a highly rated Tampa morning show and was subsequently syndicated into Orlando. More stations followed and today his wacky, outrageous and topical commentaries are carried daily in 14 markets. Larry is also a regular of Jeff Foxworthy's Country Countdown Show. He also makes regular guest appearances on nationally syndicated shows like Man Cow in the Morning, The John Boy & Billy Show and The Bob & Tom Show.
Larry starred in Blue Collar TV, a sketch comedy series for The WB network which premiered in 2004. The ensemble cast included Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall from Blue Collar Comedy Tour, The Movie. The show was a spin-off on the success of the film and highly touted concert tour, which grossed more than $15 million. The movie, itself, premiered on Comedy Central and was the highest rated movie in the channel's history. Larry will be filming the sequel Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again this summer and the movie will have its world premiere on Comedy Central in early December. He will also be the voice of one of the animated characters in an upcoming feature film from Disney/Pixar and is the star of a new theatrical release, Witness Protection.
His CD Lord, I Apologize CD has sold more than 500,000 copies and was number one on the Billboard Comedy Charts for 14 weeks. He has also filmed a DVD special entitled Git-R-Done which aired on Comedy Central in 2004. The special gave Comedy Central their second biggest Sunday night in the channel's history.
