HOLLYWOOD, Fla.  – Legendary eleven-time Grammy Award nominee, revered classic progressive rock producer, music engineer, songwriter, performer and music icon Alan Parsons will be launch his new   Greatest Hits Tour at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 8 p.m. Special guests The Orchestra starring former Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) members will open. Tickets are on sale, now.

Parsons will draw upon hits from landmark The Alan Parsons Project albums I Robot, Eve and Eye in the Sky as well as Alan Parsons’ own A Valid Path.

The 2014 tour will be a continuation of celebrating I Robot’s 35 years of success with Parsons performing at various international venues and across the US. His new CD, Alan Parsons Rock Symphony Project, will also be available on tour.

Alan Parsons began his storied career as an assistant engineer at the famed Abbey Road Studios working on projects such as The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Let It Be, and quickly became one of the most sought-after names in the recording industry.

After earning accolades for his work behind the glass, Parsons, a true Renaissance man and talented musician, formed The Alan Parsons Project, a multi-platinum-selling, progressive rock band featuring Parsons, his collaborator, Eric Woolfson and a rotating cast of studio musicians. The Alan Parsons Project garnered commercial and critical acclaim for such Billboard Top 40 hit singles as “Eye in the Sky,” “Time” and “Don’t Answer Me,” among other successes.

Other career-defining records include Wild Life by Wings, The Hollies by The Hollies and Year of the Cat by Al Stewart.

This year, 2013, marked the 40th Anniversary of Parsons engineering the acclaimed Pink Floyd album, The Dark Side of the Moon (which included the hit, “Great Gig in the Sky”). TDSOTM placed in the TOP 100 Billboard Charts (1973 to 1988) with an estimated 50 million copies sold. Parsons was directly responsible for some of the most notable sonic aspects of the album as well as the recruitment of singer Clare Torry. His involvement made a significant impact on the success of the album, which garnered Parsons a Grammy Award nomination for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

Special guests opening act, The Orchestra starring former ELO members, will perform a set including their greatest hits. Electric Light Orchestra began when three members of the Birmingham, England band, The Move, created ELO as a side project in 1970.  They envisioned a hybrid rock/orchestral group with a sound that picked-up where The Beatles had left off.  ELO’s roster changed numerous times over the years, with no fewer than 18 members contributing to the band’s sound.

ELO’s spectacular run of success in the ’70s and ’80s included numerous gold and platinum albums, Top Ten hits such as “Can’t Get It Out of My Head” and “Telephone Line”, the groundbreaking “Spaceship” tour and a secure place as one of the most important bands in the history of rock.  At the peak of ELO’s success, future ELO Part II members Bev Bevan, Mik Kaminski, Kelly Groucutt and Lou Clark lived the life of rock royalty.

In the late 1980s, ELO Part II performed as a six-man symphonic rock band wowing audiences around the world with their stellar musicianship and joyous stage personas. The band created even more excitement when it teamed with award-winning symphony orchestras in cities and at festivals all over the world creating a musical spectacle unmatched in classic rock.

When founding member Bevan retired, the name shortened to The Orchestra in 2000 but continued to play to sold-out houses. This touring incarnation features 1973 member and electric violinist Mik Kaminski Eldorado album alum, bassist and conductor Lou Clark, ELO Part II’s vocalist and keyboardist Eric Troyer, guitarist Parthenon Huxley, drummer Gordon Townsend and recent addition bassist and vocalist Glen Burtnik.

Tickets cost $39, $49, and $59;* all seats are reserved and available at all Ticketmaster outlets online at www.myhrl.com, www.ticketmaster.com or charge by phone: 1-800-745-3000. Doors open one-hour prior to show start time. *Additional fees may apply.
